Welcome to my blog; I appreciate your time.
To get the most out of my writing, you should read carefully and ask yourself if you agree or disagree, and whether or not you’re going to take action based on what you will be reading.
I hope you’ll give yourself the chance to improve!
Who am I?
I’m a 23-year-old living in Germany. I’m currently studying Sport and Applied Training Science for my bachelor’s degree. That means I’m interested in Health & Fitness, doing both strength and endurance exercises myself. I also love reading and educating myself about stuff like how our minds work, mindset & psychology, personal development, and mental health. So, I’ll mostly write about these topics, but I don’t want to limit myself to just one thing.
Why did I start this blog?
I’ve always liked challenging myself and becoming a better version of me. However, something even more rewarding than personal achievements is helping others achieve their goals. So, by putting my thoughts and ideas out on the internet, I can not only clarify my own thinking but also help you, the person reading this, maybe pick up something valuable to become better. No matter what, there’s something good that comes out of it (even if it’s just for me).
I have to thank Ali Abdaal because he inspired me to start this blog. He talked about a book called “Show Your Work” by Austin Kleon. He said that everyone has something to share and that you don’t need to be an expert to start.
I find it more interesting to see someone working on becoming the person they want to be, rather than someone who has already achieved everything. Sure, we can learn a lot from experts who have done most of what they wanted. But sometimes it’s hard to apply their advice to our own lives because we’re in different stages.
The most fulfilling task for me is to help someone else to achieve their goal!
Being a Beginner
I like the idea of not being an expert. After all, nobody is born an expert. We all have to start somewhere. And if you never start, you’ll never get there. That’s why I want to share my journey to becoming the person I want to be. It means working on myself every day, facing challenges, and learning from my mistakes along the way. Once a week, I’ll write a blog about something that stood out to me and that I want to share with you.
I’ll try to be open about the mistakes I make and the things I’m not so good at, so that both you and I can learn from them. Mistakes and failures are how we learn. Each mistake represents one way that doesn’t work, and by applying the lessons learned, we reduce the number of mistakes on our path to becoming the best version of ourselves.
Having a beginner’s mindset can really help. If you think of yourself as a beginner, you expect that you don’t have everything figured out and that you’ll mess up sometimes. But if you see yourself as an expert, there’s no room for mistakes.
What I want from you
I encourage you to think critically, a skill applicable in all aspects of life. Always ask yourself: What does this mean for me? Do I agree or disagree, and why?
We all come from different backgrounds and have different points of view. So, it’s normal to see and understand things differently. But we can only figure that out if we ask questions and answer them honestly (you’re only fooling yourself if you don’t). You don’t have to agree with me. In fact, if you disagree but have thought about it and know why, you’ve done what I hoped for. If you want to you can also reach our to me at any time (you can send a message on Instagram or email). I can probably learn just as much, if not more, from you. I also love getting feedback on what I’m doing so I can get better.I’m excited to connect with you.
Lastly, I would greatly appreciate it if you could also follow me on Instagram to receive more frequent updates and to stay updated about my activities.
I encourage you to become a critical thinker and always ask questions whether or not something is true for you.
My greatest wish is for you to start creating the life you want, but only you can take action toward that!
But for now, I hope you’ll have an amazing week.
Jonas
